Depression
About an overlooked contributing factor to depression

Depression is a collective term. It describes the symptoms, not the causes. There are a myriad of contributing factors.

In my experience one major factor is often (if not always) completely ignored. If you have twenty hoses run into the swimming pool, and turn off the water on all of them but one, the swimming pool will eventually still be full. And, that ignored factor I'm talking about is not just a little garden hose! It is a big huge pipe!

It is my believe that we came here to make a difference. As analogy one could imagine the soul incarnating in the body to accomplish a mission. The soul could easily be seen as "the mission" itself.

What I observed in myself and in many other people is, that when I am able to fulfill a task as part of my soul's mission, I get rewarded with a deep sense of happiness. And, on the other hand, if I am focusing for too long on "other stuff", ignoring my soul's attempts to make a difference, I am getting depressed, restless, unfulfilled, unhappy, irritated, and so much more.

In a way, one reason for the symptoms described as depression might just be the soul crying about not being able to accomplish what it came to do.
